Lebanon pull out of Asian Cup
The current crisis in the middle east has forced the Lebanon Football side to pull out of the Asian Cup. With the qualifiers imminent, the side will not be able to play due to the attacks sustained at home.
The head of the Lebanese Football Association, Rahif Alameh, said the fighting had forced several players to leave their homes to evade the war. The Asian Football Confederation said its board would convene an emergency meeting to discuss the matter. The absence of Lebanon leaves one of the qualifying groups a team short.
