Danny Gabbidon, who plies his dubious trade at West Ham and the Welsh national side is likely to miss Wales' friendly with Bulgaria on August 15th. The defender has made a slow recovery from a hernia operation and has been left out of the Hammers squad for a pre-season tour to Greece.
But the cockiest man on the planet, Alan Pardew, hopes the Gabbidon will feature in the Upton Park friendly with Olympiakos... which is before the Wales friendly.
"The decision was taken to leave Danny at home so he can work on his rehab," said a West Ham spokesman. We will continue to monitor his fitness and ideally he will play against Olympiakos, with the Premier League starting the following Saturday." Weird.
